Описание с местного новостного сайта в день ДТП: "Сегодня, 25 июля 2013 года в Красном Яру на перекрестке улиц Центральной и Совхозной произошло ДТП с пострадавшими. Двое молодых людей нерусской национальности в состоянии сильного алкогольного опьянения гнали на тонированной ВАЗ 2108 в сторону ЖД путей. Неожиданно у них лопнуло переднее правое и «восьмерку» кинуло в столб. Удар пришелся в передний правый бок, где сидел пассажир. Машину отбросило на встречную полосу, где она ударилась в проезжавшую мимо Газель. Молодые люди смогли самостоятельно выбраться из автомобиля. У пассажира были поломаны ребра и проткнуты легкие, ему требовалась срочная медицинская помощь. Его увез подоспевший экипаж скорой помощи. Водитель остался на месте и пояснил прибывшим сотрудникам ГАИ, что в автомобиле находится баллон с сжиженным газом. Срочно были вызваны спасатели. В соседних домах были эвакуированы жители из-за угрозы взрыва баллона. Спасатели прибыли и обезвредили баллон. Во время проведения спасательных работ в салоне автомобиля был обнаружен пистолет марки ПМ. Водитель пояснил сотрудникам полиции, что вез его, что бы сдать в УВД, после чего его повезли на медицинское освидетельствование на наличие алкоголя и наркотиков.Прибывший эвакуатор погрузил разбитый ВАЗ, после чего движение по улице было восстановлено"<br/><br/>

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents were called in that night and conducted the investigation, referring their findings Heap. The March term grand jury on April 20 recommended a civil inspection and investigation into whether the officers’ use of force was justified and notified Savannah-Chatham Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin. Lumpkin declined an invitation to respond to the presentment before it was published, which by law he is entitled to do, Heap said.
