Sightseeing helicopter crashes in Chongqing<br/>Yesterday afternoon, a sightseeing helicopter crashed, falling onto a road on its trial flight, fortunately with no one hurt. It is understood that the accident occurred when the helicopter was flying at a low level, the propellers hit the street lights, causing the aircraft to lose control. After the incident, passersby rushed to rescue the pilots.
The use of private helicopters in China is still relatively low compared to the US but has grown in recent years. According to the China Tourism Academy, a research institute under the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), there were only three officially approved low-altitude travel routes on the Chinese mainland in 2013. That number increased to 42 in March 2015 and is thought to have continued to grow.
The specific cause of the accident in Chongqinq is under investigation.
