Woman shields child from oncoming car<br/>An out of control car pinned two people against a stone wall in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, and police say a woman who saw what was happening likely saved an 8-year-old boy's life by throwing herself in front of him. The woman, Shanta Jordan, who didn’t know the boy tried to push him out of the way, but there wasn’t enough time. Police say her body absorbed much of the impact, saving the child’s life. Doctors initially thought they would have to amputate both of his legs, but surgeons in the hospital spent hours operating and saved his legs. The woman also survived the impact. The driver was also hospitalized. He’s facing reckless driving and other charges. Bridgeport Police Department
